【雪の屋〔雪〕】「はい。」

【川路】「えぇ、嘘〔うそ〕、嘘〔うそ〕。しめへ〔じゃあ〕、てめへ、昨夜〔ゆうべ〕入れたじゃあねえか。」

*(Meanwhile, she looks over the written list brought by the young attendant — a note from the yarite [the experienced woman who manages the courtesans] — and marks the items she fancies, sending the girl off to fetch them.)*
"Yobune-san, there should be *jyazen-mame* [spiced beans] and chili peppers in the tea cabinet. Bring them out here."
**[Yūgiri / 夕]** "Shall we not send for some scallop adductor muscles and make a dish of simmered scallops?"
**[Kawaji]** "Do send someone for them."
**[Yūgiri]** "Now, what's happened to the *yukihira* pot?"
**[Kawaji]** "Someone went and broke it long ago. Hey, Ashikano-san, what are the side dishes this morning?"
