現代語訳

【右丁】
しかるべけれど、デウスには智慧分別があれば法性に勝っていると言うのは、笑うに堪えない。虚霊不昧の理をば汝は知ることができない。

提宇子がまた言う。「本源に智・徳がなくば、いかにして人間にある慮智、万象に備わる徳義は、いずくより出でたのか。この理を以て見る時は、本源に知徳が備わらずんばあるべからず。」

破していわく。「柳は緑、花は紅、これはただ自然の道理である。柳の根を砕いて看よ、緑もなく、花の木を破って看よ、紅もなけれども、自然天然の現成底である。年年に咲くや吉野の山、桜木を破ってみよ、花のあるか。根元にないものの枝末にあるのは常の義である。道は一を生じ、一は二を生じ、二は三を生じ、三は万物を生ず。虚霊不昧の本

Even so, to say that Deus surpasses dharma-nature (hōshō) because he has wisdom and discrimination is unbearably laughable. You cannot understand the principle of void-spirit and non-obscuration (kyorei fumai).

Daiusu (the Christian) also says: "If there were no wisdom and virtue in the original source, from where would the contemplative wisdom found in humans and the virtue and righteousness found in all phenomena arise? When we see through this principle, wisdom and virtue must be present in the original source."

Break open a flowering tree and look - there is no red, yet this is the natural manifestation of heaven and earth.
