【右丁】
鈍才であったため、速やかに悟ることができず、奸邪の法のために空しく二十余年の歳月を送った。しかし、ある時豁然として識得するに、巧みに言葉を使い理に近づけて教えるが、真実は少ないということで、かの徒（キリシタン）から出た。これより以還、今に至るまで十五年、朝には大聖の正法に背くことを悲しみ、夕には蛮夷の曲説に随うことを嘆いても、労して功なきのみであった。ここに親友があって私を諌めて言うには、「過ちがあれば改めることを憚ってはならない。

これは孔門の活機輪である。汝は速やかに学んだ提宇子（デウス）の邪法を筆にして、これを破せば、ただ破邪顕正の功能があるのみではないか。またこれは新しきを知るための筌蹄となるものである」と。「承知した。私は不敏であるが、必ずこの言葉を実行しよう」として、ここに彼の所説の要節を集め、繁文を去って、その簡約なることを致し、さらに破文を加えて、この一巻を書き、題して「破提宇子」と言う。

Being of dull wit, I could not quickly attain enlightenment and vainly spent over twenty years under the influence of heretical teachings. However, at one point I suddenly came to realize that while [Christian teachings] skillfully use words and approach reason in their instruction, they contain little truth, and so I departed from those followers. From that time until now, fifteen years have passed. Though I grieve in the morning over abandoning the true teachings of the great sage, and lament in the evening over following the false doctrines of barbarians, my efforts have been in vain and without result. Then a close friend admonished me, saying: "When there are errors, one should not hesitate to correct them.

This is the living principle of Confucius's school. You should quickly take up your brush against the heretical teachings of Deus that you have studied and refute them. Would this not have the merit of destroying falsehood and revealing truth? Moreover, this would serve as a means to understand what is new." I replied: "I agree. Though I am not gifted, I will certainly act upon these words." Therefore, I have collected the essential points of those [Christian] doctrines, eliminated verbose passages to achieve brevity, and added refutations to write this single volume, which I have titled "Hadaius" (Refutation of Deus).
