第二 医者を撰ふ㕝
古曰（いにしへにいわく）。《振り仮名：医不＿二 三-世＿一不＿レ服＿二其薬＿一｜ゐさんぜならさればそののくすりをふくせず》。言（いふこゝろ）は博（ひろ）く学（まなび）
約（つゞまやか）に取（とつ）て。三世の書（しよ）までも通達（つうだつ）した医者（いしや）
で無ければ。薬は呑まれぬといふ事也。然るに
今の病家やまひおもれば。大勢医者を集て。
談合（だんこう）薬を用る㕝有れども。其心得なく
しては。益（ゑき）なきのみならず。却而（かへつて）害（かい）有る事也。

刈り捨てなければ、後には斧や鉞を用いるようになるということである。それならば少しの病気も打ち捨てて置かず、さっそく上手な医者を頼んで、斧鉞を用いないようにすべきである。故人もこの等閑視することを深く戒めたので、仮にも軽々しく思うべきではない。病人はとかく我儘を言うものなので、介抱する人は心を付けて、取り計らうべきことである。よくよく心得るべきである。

第二 医者を選ぶこと
古人が言うには、「医者が三世代にわたって学ばなければ、その薬は服用してはならない」。この意味は、広く学んで要点を掴み、三世代分の医書まで通達した医者でなければ、薬は飲めないということである。しかるに今の病家は、病気が重くなると、大勢の医者を集めて談合して薬を用いることがあるけれども、その心得がなくては、益がないだけでなく、かえって害があることである。

Chapter Two: Selecting a Doctor
The ancients said, "If a doctor has not studied for three generations, do not take his medicine." The meaning is that unless it is a doctor who has studied broadly, grasped the essentials, and mastered even the medical texts of three generations, one cannot take the medicine. However, nowadays when families have serious illnesses, they gather many doctors for consultation and use medicine, but without proper understanding, this is not only without benefit but actually harmful.
