　衣服は皆ゆったりと幅広く作られており、後ろで交差する衽はない。袖は大きく二、三尺の長さで、手指を超えない程度である。右の襟の端は欠け目状に作られており、衣帯はない。多くは芭蕉布や蕉葛で作られている。綦文様に彩色を施しており、男女の衣服は皆同じで、これを衾と呼ぶ。

帯
　大帯は長さ一丈四、五尺、幅六、七寸で、腰の周りに三、四回巻く。雑花錦地のものが最も貴重で、大花錦帯がその次、龍の模様で黄地や紅地のものがさらにその次である。下等なものは皆雑色花帯である。

　All clothing is loose and wide without rear crossing panels (jin). The sleeves are large, two to three shaku in length, not extending beyond the fingertips. The end of the right collar is made with a notch, and there are no clothing belts. Most are made from banana fiber cloth (bashōfu) or banana kudzu. They have geometric patterns with colors, and men's and women's clothing are the same, called "kin."

帯 (Belts/Sashes)
　Large belts are one jō four to five shaku in length and six to seven sun in width, wrapped around the waist three to four times. Mixed floral brocade ground is most precious, followed by large floral brocade belts, then those with dragon patterns on yellow or red ground. The lower quality ones are all mixed-color floral belts.
