現代語訳

法司以下は平日はすべて緑地に印花布の傘を用いるが、今見ると各人がすべて
花模様の雨傘を使用しており、各人の前に踏鳴金を持つ者が一人いる。

座褥（座布団）
一品　赤褐色の中心部、青褐色の縁、赤いフェルトを敷く
二品　青い布の中心部、赤い布の縁、赤いフェルトを敷く
三品　青い布の表面、赤いフェルトを敷く
四品五品　共に藍色の布の表面、白いフェルトを敷く
六品以下　座褥は使用せず、ただフェルトの帯のみを用いる

氏族
首里の四大姓は向・翁・毛・馬である。向氏は国王尚姓の分家であるが、少し
離れているため向と称して区別する。故に代々王家とは通婚しない。本国の
人で王家と婚姻関係にある者は翁・毛・馬の三家のみで、代々王舅・法司となる。今
現在法司である者は三人で、馬献図・翁自道・向聖■国丈・毛邦
秀《割書：今の王尚敬の外祖父、王妃は馬氏である》である。世系はすべて未詳のため、後日調査して系譜を作成する予定である。

久米三十六姓はすべて洪武・永楽両朝に賜った閩人（福建人）であるが、万暦年間に至って存続
している者は蔡・鄭・梁・金・林の五姓のみとなった。万暦三十五年に続いて賜った者は阮・毛の
両姓である。各姓の子孫はみな甚だしく繁栄しているわけではない。その他に寄籍により起家し貴顕となった者も多く
いるが、賜姓の旧家ではない。今、九姓の世譜を閲覧すると、その中の多くが読書し国学を

Sitting Cushions (Zabutan)
First rank: Reddish-brown center, bluish-brown border, lined with red felt
Second rank: Blue cloth center, red cloth border, lined with red felt

Fourth and fifth ranks: Both use indigo cloth surface, lined with white felt
Sixth rank and below: Do not use sitting cushions, only use felt strips

Clans
The four great surnames of Shuri are Shō, Ō, Mō, and Ba. The Shō clan is a branch family of the royal Shō surname, but being somewhat
distant, they are called Shō to distinguish them. Therefore, they do not intermarry with the royal family through the generations. Among the native
people who have marriage relations with the royal family, only the three families Ō, Mō, and Ba serve as royal uncles and Hōshi through generations. Currently
there are three people serving as Hōshi: Ba Kenzu, Ō Jidō, Shō Sei[■]koku-jō, and Mō Hōshū
《Marginal note: Maternal grandfather of the current king Shō Kei, the queen consort is from the Ba clan》. The genealogies are all unclear, so investigation will continue to compile family records.

The thirty-six surnames of Kume were all Min people (Fujian people) granted during the Hongwu and Yongle reigns, but by the Wanli period, those surviving
were only the five surnames Sai, Tei, Ryō, Kin, and Rin. Those additionally granted in the thirty-fifth year of Wanli were the two
surnames Gen and Mō. The descendants of each surname have not all multiplied greatly. Many others have established themselves through registration and achieved noble prominence,
