蔡氏は元々福建泉州府晋江県の人である《割書：『明史実録』成化五年によると、長史蔡璟が入貢した際、自ら言うには其の祖は南安県の人である》宋の端明学士襄の後裔で、十二世で総計八十一人である。

The Sai clan originally came from Jinjiang County, Quanzhou Prefecture, Fujian《Marginal note: According to the Ming Veritable Records, in the fifth year of Chenghua, when Chief Secretary Sai Kei came to pay tribute, he stated that his ancestor was from Nan'an County》. They are descendants of Xiang, an Academician of the Duanming Hall of the Song Dynasty, with twelve generations totaling eighty-one people.
