家中之内をは綿服にて罷出行先又は途中抔ニて
制禁之衣類過分之体に致替へ或は葬礼之
供ニ白小袖を着致ものも相聞絶言語不恐
上致方不届至極ニ候就中白小袖之義ハ御中
小性の家内も御制禁之品と云ひ畢竟頭支配
常々之申付ゆるヶせ故之義と相見候一組限
支配限急度可被遂吟味候自今地廻りハ不
及申在中ニ於て成とも万一隠れ忍ひ定
法を相背不相応之体有之趣相聞ニ於てハ
其衣類取上急度咎可申付候其節ニ至り候而ハ
則支配頭之可為越度候頭支配ニ而改而今

家中の内でも綿服で外出し、行き先や途中などで制禁の衣類を過分な体裁に着替えたり、あるいは葬礼の供で白小袖を着用する者もいると聞く。全く言語道断で恐れ多く、上に対する振る舞いとして不届き至極である。なかでも白小袖については、御中小姓の家族でも御制禁の品というのに、結局のところ組頭支配が常々の申し付けを怠った故のことと見受けられる。各組限り、支配限りで厳重に吟味を遂げるべきである。今後、地回りは申すに及ばず、在中においても、万一隠れて忍び、定法に背き不相応な体裁があると聞いた場合には、その衣類を取り上げ厳重に咎めを申し付ける。その時に至っては、すなわち支配頭の越度となる。組頭支配において改めて今般吟味を遂げた上で、定法の通り厳重に申し付けるべきである。
奢侈に長じ、酒食の参会なども分限をわきまえ、不相当な体裁がないよう怠らず世話をするべきことである。
右の趣旨を組支配のある面々へ申し通すべきである。以上

Even within the samurai household, some go out wearing cotton clothing and change into prohibited garments of excessive appearance at their destinations or along the way, or wear white under-kimono when attending funeral processions. Particularly regarding white under-kimono, even the families of palace attendants are prohibited from wearing such items, so this ultimately appears to be due to the negligence of group leaders in their regular instructions. Each group and each supervisor must conduct strict examinations. From now on, not only in local rounds but even while staying in residence, if we hear that anyone secretly and stealthily violates the established law with inappropriate appearance, we will confiscate such clothing and impose strict punishment.
