現代語訳
五里ばかり奥である。この山中に風穴というものがあって、常に風を生じる。洞の高さは二丈余り、幅は二丈余り、広い所では三、四丈もある。一町ほど行くとこのような洞穴が上下左右に数十に分かれ、その一つの道筋だけでも、また数百に分かれる。また一町半程も行くと蜘蛛の巣のごとく数も知れずに分岐して、方角を失い、行くのが困難である。その奥は全く見尽くしがたい。土地の人が伝えて言うには、一里行って横になる大河があり、これを渡って伊勢国へ出るということだが、本当かどうかはわからない。

It is about five ri into the interior. In these mountains there is what is called a "wind cave" that constantly generates wind. The height of the cave is over two jō, the width is over two jō, and in wide places it reaches three or four jō. After going about one chō, such cave passages split into dozens of branches above, below, left and right, and each single path alone branches into hundreds more. After going about one and a half chō further, the passages split beyond counting like a spider's web, causing one to lose direction and making progress difficult. The depths are completely impossible to explore fully. According to what the local people tell, after going one ri there is a great river that flows horizontally, and by crossing it one can reach Ise Province, though whether this is true or not is unknown.
