現代語訳
『続日本後紀』に、承和六年、出羽国より報告があった。去る八月二十九日、田川郡の西浜から国府に至るまでの距離五十余里の間は、もともと石がなかった。しかるに八月三日より長雨が止まず、雷電が激しく、十余日を経て晴天となった時、海浜より自然に石が降った。その数は少なくなく、あるものは鏃（やじり）に似て、鋒（ほこさき）に似ており、あるものは白く、あるものは黒く、また青く赤いものもあった。また『三代実録』には、仁和元年六月二十一日、出羽国秋田城中および飽海郡神宮の西浜に石の鏃を降らせたとある。また同年二月、出羽国飽海郡の諸山の神社の辺りに石鏃を降らせたとも記されている。

According to the "Shoku Nihon Kōki" (Later Chronicles of Japan Continued), in the sixth year of Jōwa era, a report came from Dewa Province. On the twenty-ninth day of the eighth month past, in the area spanning fifty-some ri from the western beach of Tagawa District to the provincial capital, there had originally been no stones. However, from the third day of the eighth month, continuous rain did not cease, thunder and lightning were severe, and after more than ten days when clear weather was finally seen, stones naturally fell from the seashore. Their number was not small - some resembled arrowheads and spear points, some were white, some black, and others blue and red. Also, according to the "Sandai Jitsuroku" (True Record of Three Reigns), on the twenty-first day of the sixth month of the first year of Nin'wa era, stone arrowheads rained down in Akita Castle of Dewa Province and on the western beach of Kami Shrine in Akumi District. It also states that in the second month of the same year, stone arrowheads fell around shrines in the various mountains of Akumi District in Dewa Province.
