現代語訳
きめ細かい白砂である。御神前は（大物忌大神）常にもものすごい。さて、あの神の戦いの跡に、普通の矢の根を稀に拾うことがある。これは御社へ立願した者が奉納した矢の根であるという。一年中に数百本、神前に納める所、その風雨に紛れて一本も残らず散失する。また誰が納めるのか、山鳥の羽で矧いた矢が宝前に多い。これもその節に散り去ると云う。しかるや否やを知らない。私が本朝で鏃石を出す所を考えるに、大和国法隆寺より三里東、布留の社の西丹波市の野山に大なるもの稀にあり。尾張国三淵村に稀にあり。
英語訳
It is fine white sand. The divine presence (of Ōmono-imi Ōkami) is always awe-inspiring. Now, in the aftermath of that divine battle, ordinary arrowheads are rarely found. These are said to be arrowheads offered by those who made vows at the shrine. Hundreds of them are presented before the deity throughout the year, but they all scatter and are lost without a single one remaining due to wind and rain. Also, whoever offers them, there are many arrows fletched with mountain pheasant feathers before the treasure hall. These too are said to scatter away at that time. I do not know whether this is true or not. When I consider the places in our country that produce arrowhead stones, there are rarely large ones in the fields and mountains of Nishi-Tanba-ichi, west of Furu Shrine, three ri east of Hōryūji Temple in Yamato Province. There are rare ones in Mifuchi Village in Owari Province.
