On the 28th day of the 8th month of An'ei 4, year of the Wood Sheep (1775), I traveled to Naniwa and visited Kenkadō. The master has been fond of rare stones for many years, and recently obtained a Divine Age Stone which he showed me. It is an incomparable rare stone from ancient and modern times. Its shape is like a hoe blade, seven sun in length, about four sun in the middle, about one sun thick at the base, thin at the end measuring three to five bu, narrow at the base and wide at the end. At the base there is a hole measuring about one sun by two sun. On both front and back surfaces, ridges are carved in high relief. The entire piece is made of blue agate and is both strange and beautiful, worthy of admiration. It is not something within the reach of jade craftsmen, and its origin is that of a carved object.
