現代語訳
形容は図の如く、石質は堅密で三寸余り、濃い鼠色なり。越後頸城郡矢代大明神の社地より掘り出す。
神代石 六
大和国釜口山普賢院の泰然子は私の同好の友なり。奇石数百品を蓄う。安永四年乙未八月、大阪の産物会に持参した神代石を私は初めて見たり。古代の神物が何たるものとも知る人なし。大和国三輪山にて掘り得たりと。その形は図の如く、色は薄白く、厚さ四分。
英語訳
The form is as shown in the illustration. The stone quality is dense and hard, measuring over three sun in length, and is of a deep mouse-gray color. It was excavated from the shrine grounds of Yashiro Daimyōjin in Kubiki District, Echigo Province.
Jindaiseki (Divine Age Stones) - Six
Tainenshi of Bukgenin Temple at Kamakōsan in Yamato Province is a friend who shares my same passion. He collects several hundred varieties of rare stones. In the eighth month of Anei 4 (1775), year of the Wood Sheep, I first saw this jindaiseki that was brought to a natural products exhibition in Osaka. No one knows what kind of divine object from ancient times this might be. It is said to have been excavated at Mount Miwa in Yamato Province. Its shape is as shown in the illustration, the color is pale white, and the thickness is four bu.
