石靭 美濃国木曽山より出たとして三宅氏が持参したことは前編に記した。その後、隣村の杉江氏が再び木曽山よりこの物を拾って来た。時は安永九年子（庚子）六月十二日、木曽路を通行して臼井峠の山中にて半分に折れたものを自ら拾って来た。形は鍬のようで、薄黒い硬石である。全く神代の物で、今様の物ではない。その山中の谷間をしばらく探してみると、古代の神石で種々の形をした物の折れ欠けたものが散らばっている。この所を詳しく吟味すれば、古代の奇石がまだあるだろう。後の人がここに至って

Stone Quiver: As recorded in the previous volume, Mr. Miyake brought one saying it came from Mount Kiso in Mino Province. Later, Mr. Sugie from a neighboring village again picked up this object from Mount Kiso. On the 12th day of the 6th month of An'ei 9 (1780), year of the Rat, while traveling the Kiso road, he personally picked up a half-broken one in the mountains of Usui Pass. Its shape is like a hoe, made of thin blackish hard stone. It is entirely an object from the age of gods, not a contemporary item. When searching for a while in the valleys of those mountains, there are scattered fragments of ancient divine stones of various shapes that have broken and chipped.
