He died at the age of eighty. When the Osaka campaigns arose, Kazunao rushed from Yamato Province and at Konda in Kawachi Province personally took the heads of two enemy riders and presented them. When war broke out again, at the Battle of Dōmyōji he cut seventeen heads, and on the day the castle fell he cut another 119 heads and presented them. In Kan'ei 10, he received orders to inspect both the Hokuriku and San'in circuits, and in the same thirteenth year, eighth month, he died at the age of fifty-nine. His son Shurinosuke Kazuyuki followed his father, retired on the twenty-third day of the eighth month of Enpō 6, and his heir Mimasaka-no-kami Kazutada inherited the house {{marginal note: 15,000 koku. One theory says 11,000 koku}}. He divided domain lands among his younger brothers {{marginal note: Second son Saburōzaemon 1,200 koku, third son Genshichi is said to have held 7,000 koku. According to one theory, initially after Kazuharu died, for some reason the domain was reduced by 3,000 koku. The year is unknown}}.
Iga-no-kami Fujiwara Naoharu was the second son of Hōin Sōei and inherited domain lands in Kii Province

{{marginal note: Said to be 16,000 koku}}. In the autumn of Keichō 5, he joined the Eastern side, and in this year was granted land at Gose in Yamato Province and moved there {{marginal note: Said to hold 26,000 koku. If so, he must have been granted an additional 10,000 koku. It is said that 10,000 koku was divided as the Hōin's retirement domain}}. He participated in both Osaka campaigns and cut heads to present {{marginal note: Said to be nineteen heads. Details are still unclear}}. His heir Sagami-no-kami [name unknown] died young {{marginal note: He is said to have actually been an adopted son}}. His second son Kaga-no-kami [name unknown] {{marginal note: Initially appointed Tosa-no-kami, his name was Sadaharu or Sadanori - both theories exist and it is uncertain}} inherited the house {{marginal note: 26,000 koku}}, and divided domain lands to his third son Monden Hideharu {{marginal note: Said to be 1,000 koku}}. When Kaga-no-kami died without an heir, the house was extinguished.
