によつて美濃国大桑の郷地頭職に補せられし
より子孫代々かの国にあり其後尾張の国に移り
て溝口の地に住せしより溝口とは名のれる也
秀勝いまた竹丸と申して童なりしときに
丹羽五郎左衛門尉長秀につかへ元服の後金右衛門尉と
名のる天正九年四月十六日はからさるほかに織田殿に
めし出され御家人につらなり若狭国高浜の城を

伯耆守源秀勝は尾張国の住人溝口彦左衛門尉勝政の男子である。昔、逸見又太郎義重が承久の乱の戦功によって美濃国大桑の郷地頭職に補任されてから、子孫が代々その国にあった。その後尾張国に移って溝口の地に住んだことから溝口と名乗るようになった。

Hōki-no-kami Minamoto Hidekatsu was the son of Mizoguchi Hikozaemon-no-jō Katsumasa, a resident of Owari Province. Long ago, Hemmi Matatarō Yoshishige was appointed to the position of jitō (estate steward) of Ōkuwa-no-gō in Mino Province for his military service in the Jōkyū War, and his descendants lived in that province for generations. Later they moved to Owari Province and lived in the area of Mizoguchi, from which they took the name Mizoguchi.
When Hidekatsu was still called Takemaru and was a child, he served Niwa Gorozaemon-no-jō Nagahide, and after his coming-of-age ceremony, he was called Kin'emon-no-jō. On the sixteenth day of the fourth month of Tenshō 9, he was unexpectedly summoned by Oda-dono and joined his retainers, and [was given] Takahama Castle in Wakasa Province
