なかれ其故は御瞋り俄に来り給ひ御罰の時剋到来して汝を亡し
給ふべしと
爰にをひて今一ッいふべき事あり縦ひ人々おもふまゝに長生する事叶と
いふ共行儀を改むる事を後とのぶる事よかるべきや只今尚易かるべきや是を
糾し伏すべき為には先汝今を難しとする謂れを尋ね探るべき事専也
惣じて人のおもふに違はず此等の深き迷ひと云ぱあまたの障りによる事
なく只犯し馴たる悪き僻のゆへ也是を指て＊さんぜろうにも人善の道を
勤め難く味なしとする事別に非ずたゞ悪き僻の久しくなす処也と
さんべるなかど宣く分て ds のがらさを蒙り奇特不思儀を顕はすごとく
ds の御力をうけざるあにまは犯し馴たる僻を改る事難しと爰をもて
きりしたんの進退万事に付て執着し馴たる事は甚恐れの題目と
すべき者也加て悪人の行儀を改め難き謂れといふは科に落たる人の
あにまは天狗の進退となる故也
又今一ッの謂れと云は ds は罪に落たる者のあにまを遠ざかり給ふ者也其故は
罪科重なるに随ひ ds 遠ざかり給ふを以て人のあにまに大なる災難儀
出来る者也是に付て ds ＊おぜやすぽろへたを以て宣く Væ eis, quoniâ recesserût
現代語訳
汝を滅ぼし給うべし」と。（エクレシアスティクス第5章）
ここにおいて今一つ言うべき事がある。たとえ人々が思うままに長生きすることが叶うとしても、行いを改めることを後に延ばすことが良いであろうか、それとも今すぐの方が容易であろうか。これを糾し正すためには、まず汝が今を困難とする理由を尋ね探るべき事が肝要である。
総じて人の思うに違わず、このような深い迷いというのは、数多の障りによることなく、ただ犯し慣れた悪い癖のゆえである。これを指して聖ジェロニモも、人が善の道を勤め難く味気なしとすることは、別のことではなく、ただ悪い癖が久しくなす所であると言われている。
聖ベルナルドが宣うように、分けてデウスの恩寵を蒙り奇跡不思議を顕すごとく、デウスの御力を受けない魂は、犯し慣れた癖を改めることは困難である。ここをもってキリシタンの進退万事につけて執着し慣れたことは、甚だ恐れの題目とすべきものである。
加えて悪人の行いを改め難い理由というのは、罪に落ちた人の魂は天狗（悪魔）の支配となるゆえである。
また今一つの理由というのは、デウスは罪に落ちた者の魂を遠ざかり給うものであることである。その故は、罪科重なるに随ってデウスが遠ざかり給うを以て、人の魂に大なる災難が生じるものである。これについてデウスがオゼアス預言者を以て宣く、「災いなり彼らに、彼らは離れ去ったから」

Here there is one more thing that must be said. Even if people could live as long as they wished, would it be better to postpone reforming one's conduct, or would it be easier to do so now? In order to correct and resolve this matter, it is essential first to seek out and explore the reasons why you consider the present time difficult.
Generally speaking, as people commonly think, such deep delusion does not arise from numerous obstacles, but solely from evil habits that have become ingrained through repeated transgression. Pointing to this, Saint Jerome also says that when people find it difficult and unrewarding to practice the path of virtue, this is nothing else but what long-established evil habits bring about.
As Saint Bernard declares, just as those who receive God's grace and manifest miraculous wonders do so through God's power, souls that do not receive God's power find it difficult to reform their ingrained habits. Therefore, for Christians, becoming attached and accustomed to anything in all their conduct should be considered a matter of great fear.
Moreover, the reason why it is difficult for evil people to reform their conduct is that the souls of those who have fallen into sin come under the dominion of demons.
Another reason is that God distances Himself from the souls of those who have fallen into sin. This is because as sins accumulate, God withdraws, and thus great calamities befall human souls. Concerning this, God declares through the prophet Hosea: "Woe to them, for they have departed"
