たり然ば ds 人を達して赦し給はんが為に大なる償ひを望み給ふ事を
見よ＊さんじよあんきりまこの云く人はその日の罪に対して其日科送りを
する事難し同く其日の負物を即其日返す事難しと爰を以て汝争か
生涯の間うけおひたるほどの罪の償ひを達して後に返さんとは思ふぞ
ds に対し奉る謀叛是に過たる事なしと＊さんげれごうりよ知らせ給ふ
者也誠に齢衰へて後は当座の罪の償ひさへ全く勤め難かるべきに御慈
悲に頼みをかけ善に立揚る道をのぶる人は ds を思ひ奉る本意を背くが
故に深く恐れ奉り早く ds へ立かへり善作の為にがらさを乞奉るべき者也
茲に今一ッ観ずべき事あり右条々の危さを縦ひ其身に受ずといふ共限り
なき天恩と御約束し給ふ量りなき天の楽みに対して争か分別
あらんほどの者御奉公の道にをひて隙をおしむ事あらんやゑけれ
じやすちこに何時も善に草臥るゝ事なかれ其故は御返報の永く果し
なければなりと見えたり如此大に深き御返報に対して争か御
奉公の隙を短くなさんとはする也御返報と云ば即限り在まさぬ ds 天の
御代を保ち給はん程ながらへ奉るべき身なれば何ぞ此世の限りある露の
命を御奉公の道に惜み奉るべきぞ墓なき世界の一期をさへ全く捧奉る事
叶はずして漸〳〵三分一を捧けんとするは何事ぞ猶未右の御恩をも

そうであるならば、神は人を救済して赦し給うために大きな償いを望み給うことを見よ。聖ヨハネ・クリゾストモスが言うように、「人はその日の罪に対してその日に罪の償いをすることは難しい。同じくその日の負債を即座にその日に返すことも難しい」と。ここを持って、汝はどうして生涯の間に背負ったほどの罪の償いを老いてから後に返そうと思うのか。神に対し申し上げる謀反はこれに過ぎることはないと、聖グレゴリウスがお示しになっている。まことに年齢が衰えて後では、当座の罪の償いさえ完全に勤めることは難しいであろうに、御慈悲に頼みをかけて善に立ち上がる道を延ばす人は、神を思い申し上げる本意に背くが故に、深く恐れ申し上げ、早く神へ立ち帰り、善行の為に恩寵をお乞い申し上げるべきである。
ここに今一つ観察すべきことがある。右の条々の危険を縦令その身に受けないとしても、限りない天の恩と御約束し給う量りない天の楽しみに対して、どうして分別のあるほどの者が御奉公の道において時間を惜しむことがあろうか。エクレジアスティコに「何時も善に疲れることなかれ。その故は御返報が永く果てしないからである」と見えている。このように大いに深い御返報に対して、どうして御奉公の時間を短くなそうとするのか。御返報というのは即ち限りおわしまさない神の天の御代を保ち給う程長らえ申し上げるべき身であるから、何故この世の限りある露の命を御奉公の道に惜しみ申し上げるべきか。果てなき世界の一期をさえ完全に捧げ申し上げることが叶わずして、漸く三分の一を捧げようとするのは何事か。なお未だ右の御恩をも

If this is so, then see that God desires great atonement in order to save and forgive mankind. As Saint John Chrysostom says, "It is difficult for a person to make atonement for that day's sins on that same day. Likewise, it is difficult to repay that day's debts immediately on that same day." Based on this, how can you think to repay the atonement for the sins you have shouldered throughout your lifetime only after you have grown old? There is no rebellion against God greater than this, as Saint Gregory has revealed. Truly, after one's years have declined, even the atonement for present sins would be completely difficult to perform, yet those who rely on His mercy and postpone the path of rising to goodness go against the true intention of thinking of God. Therefore, they should deeply fear Him, quickly return to God, and beseech His grace for the sake of good works.
Here is one more thing to observe. Even if one does not personally experience the dangers of the aforementioned conditions, faced with the limitless heavenly grace and the immeasurable heavenly joy that He has promised, how could any person of sound judgment begrudge time in the path of serving Him? In Ecclesiasticus it appears: "Never grow weary in doing good, for your reward is eternal and endless." Faced with such profoundly deep reward, why would you try to shorten the time of serving Him? Since the reward means a body that should live long under God's limitless heavenly reign, why should you begrudge this world's limited, dewdrop-like life in the path of serving Him? When you cannot even completely offer an entire lifetime of the endless world, and can barely offer a third of it, what does this mean? Still, even this aforementioned grace...
