常陸介義重は義宣の父也けり義重か時にあたりて

Hitachi no suke Yoshishige was the father of Yoshinobu. In Yoshishige's time, when the Kantō kanrei Uesugi perished, all the people of the eight Kantō families submitted to the Hōjō. After war broke out between the Hōjō and Takeda, the local lords of Hitachi and Shimotsuke provinces again turned against the Hōjō and followed Yoshishige. From this point on, the fighting between Satake and Hōjō never ceased. In Tenshō 18, Yoshishige destroyed Edo Shigemichi, a daimyo of the same province, captured Mito castle and gave it to his heir Yoshinobu, transferred the governance of the domain to him, and retired to Ōta castle.
