後国三池郡高橋に給り叙爵して主膳正にそ任せ
らる朝鮮の軍起つて彼国におし渡りこゝかしこに
戦ひ石田三成等か乱の時伏見の城を攻おとし大津の
城をも攻てけり舎兄立花左近将監宗茂も上方に
くみしけれは兄弟おなしく本領を没収せられ慶長
十八年の春将軍家宗茂直次兄弟をめされて所領
の地給はり直次常陸国筑波郡柿岡の地を領たり
《割書：五千｜石》又汝ら二人兄弟たりおなし名字にあらためよと
仰下さる直次これより源氏よつて立花と名のる

筑後国三池郡高橋を給わり、叙爵して主膳正に任ぜられる。朝鮮の軍が起こって彼の国に押し渡り、あちこちで戦い、石田三成等の乱の時には伏見の城を攻め落とし、大津の城をも攻めた。義兄の立花左近将監宗茂も上方（西軍）に組したので、兄弟同様に本領を没収された。慶長十八年の春、将軍家が宗茂・直次兄弟を召されて所領の地を給わり、直次は常陸国筑波郡柿岡の地を領した（五千石）。また「汝ら二人は兄弟であるから同じ名字に改めよ」と仰せ下される。直次はこれより源氏によって立花と名乗る。大坂前後の戦いに将軍家に従った。元和六年の

秋、宗茂が本領を給わった時、直次も同じく召される。病気が既に急で参上することができず、幾ほどもなく卒去した。明けて七年の春、嫡子種次を召して本領を賜い、再び筑後国三池の郡を領した（一万石）。叙爵して主膳正に任じ、年二十七歳にて卒去した（年月はまだ分からない）。その子の和泉守種長は父について致仕・入道して道運と号し、七十七歳にして卒去した。その子の主膳正種明が家を譲り受ける。

He was granted Takahashi in Miike District of Chikugo Province and was ennobled and appointed to the position of Shuzen-no-shō. When the Korean campaign began, he crossed over to that country and fought in various places. During the rebellion of Ishida Mitsunari and others, he attacked and captured Fushimi Castle and also attacked Ōtsu Castle. His brother-in-law Tachibana Sakon-no-shōgen Muneshige also sided with the western forces, so the brothers alike had their domains confiscated. In the spring of Keichō 18, the Shogun summoned the brothers Muneshige and Naotsugi and granted them territorial lands. Naotsugi was given the land of Kakioka in Tsukuba District of Hitachi Province (5,000 koku). Furthermore, [the Shogun] declared, "Since you two are brothers, you should adopt the same family name." when Muneshige received back his original domain, Naotsugi was likewise summoned. However, his illness was already severe and he could not attend, dying shortly thereafter. In the spring of the following 7th year, his eldest son Tanetsugi was summoned and granted the original domain, again ruling Miike District in Chikugo Province (10,000 koku). He was ennobled and appointed Shuzen-no-shō, and died at the age of twenty-seven (the exact date is not yet known). His son, Izumi-no-kami Tanenaga, retired following his father's example, became a Buddhist monk taking the name Dōun, and died at seventy-seven years of age. His son, Shuzen-no-shō Taneaki, inherited the house.
