Item: A circular (mawashijō) arrived from the rural page inspector (gōchū-koshō metsuke) stating: His Lordship had his first audience with Lord Yai in Edo. Accordingly, all are to make their rounds today — in cotton dress and hemp formal wear (asa-kamishimo) to offer congratulations (kyōetsu) — to the senior councillors (karō), elders (toshiyori), and chamberlains (yōnin) ■ (one character illegible).

Item: Today, the levy (un'jō) on hemp taro and hemp cloth for this town was paid. Kyūbei appeared and one attendant (ochūgen) received it.
