一、御取調べ、小降り（小雨）にて御用意申さず候由、太平中に御渡し・御渡汰につき、惣■■まで二十九目に梳（す）き置き、出来図り申し付け置き候段、申し上げられ候。調べ出来次第、申し上げるべく候段、申し候。

(Continued from previous page) — requesting that [the meal allowances] be increased out of compassionate consideration. [I] conveyed this to Jūzō-dono for his attention. On this very day, a judgment was handed down from Jūzō-dono: while the hardship described in the petition of the two men is acknowledged, there are many similar cases of this kind, and there are established procedures [to follow]. As for [any relief] beyond that, [they] should endure [the situation] as instructed. [The matter] was thus settled without further [concession].
29th day
Item: [Regarding] the inspection — due to light rain, preparations could not be made. Regarding the delivery and sorting during the Taihei period [or: via the Taihei intermediary], [the work] was set out to be combed/processed at 29 monme up to the ■■ total, and [the workers] were directed to complete the allotted production. It was reported that [the results] would be submitted as soon as the inspection was complete.
Item: An official letter (御手織) from Jūzō-dono, as follows:
Sandaijima Village — Hachirozaemon — New Dyehouse [Kōya] Domain [application]
[Regarding the above,] the petition has been heard and [I] believe [you] have been instructed to grant the request as submitted. The petition document is herewith returned. Respectfully submitted.
