右は非持村(ひもちむら)伝四郎、松木材木の分一銭、上納〔見せ消ち:■■■〕申し候につき上納〔見せ消ち:仰付御座候〕過ぎ付き候、御金方より受取受け申し渡し候につき御座候。以上。

八旦(はったん)銭上納申しにつき。
一、五日、御用相止(あいやみ)の事。
一、今日、諸士、御城へ御用御座候にて罷り出で候様、■■人数(にんず)、江戸表よりの御帰りにつき、御意の趣仰せ渡され候。
一、十日、御用日、御勘定請状(ごかんじょううけじょう)差し出し申し候。
同。
一、羽場村(はばむら)紺屋増す衛門と申す者、今年より紺屋掛け藍瓶(あいがめ)弐つにて相勤め申し度く、御手形旨差し出し候。

一、下り町源八、只今仏職(ぶっしょく)仕り候様、不勝手に罷り成り候につき、相止め申し度きの願書差し出し。

一、新町忠右衛門、只今まで藍瓶三つにて紺屋仕り候ところ、瓶弐つ仕り度きの御願書差し出し申し候。

(Continued from previous page) — [I] have done so. Therefore, [I] humbly wish to make payment of the levy.

Regarding the above: Denshirō of Himochi Village — [regarding] the buichi-sen (fractional levy) on pine timber — the payment [correction visible in strikethrough] has been made, and [it having been] carried over [past due], [he] received a receipt from the Treasury Office and [the matter] was settled accordingly. Respectfully submitted.
3rd month, 5th day Kyūemon
Regarding the payment of the hattan levy.
Item: 5th day — official business suspended.
Item: Today, all samurai retainers were ordered to present themselves at the castle for official business. [Regarding the] number of people [■■] — due to the return [of certain personnel] from Edo — the lord's instructions were conveyed [to them].
Item: 10th day, official business day — an accounting receipt (kanjō-ukejō) was submitted.

Item: One Masuemon, a dyer (kōya) of Haba Village, submitted a formal request to the effect that, from this year onward, he wishes to conduct his dyeing business using two indigo vats (ai-game).

Item: Genhachi of Kudari-machi submitted a petition stating that, as it has become inconvenient for him to continue in the Buddhist [funerary/ritual] trade (busshoku) as he currently practices it, he wishes to cease [that activity].

Item: Chūemon of Shinmachi submitted a petition stating that, whereas he has hitherto operated his dyeing business using three indigo vats, he now wishes to reduce this to two vats.

Item: Yūzaemon, a kōji (malt/koji) merchant of Honmachi, submitted a petition stating that, as it has become inconvenient for him to continue holding the ■ license (fuda) [i.e., operating under that license], he has ceased [the business], and accordingly wishes to surrender the license. [This] was reported to ■-emon-dono. [The petition was] resolved as requested.
