（前頁より続き）申し候ところ、当春より名主役位（なぬしやくい）に付き相成り申し度く候。これまた条左衛門殿へ申し上げ候段、願いのとおり相済み申し候。
同。
一、郷方（ごうかた）小作庄兵衛（しょうへい）申し聞かせ候。この度、宮瀬村（みやせむら）より少々の小老木（ころうぼく）さし（筏）相調え申し候。右古木、弁才天川原（べんざいてんかわら）の御代（おだい）にて川下し仕り度きの由、届け有之候。御意（ぎょい）、前々より私共承り届け候以上、相済み申し候の例御座候。これにより条左衛門殿へ申し上げ候。古例有之候、左のとおり承り届け候様に被り相済め申し候。その段、庄兵衛へ申し図り候。もっとも支配中、■右の趣申し達し候。
十二日。
一、三沢太左衛門（たざえもん）罷り越し申し聞かせ候。近々■木下（きのした）川仕り候につき御届け候。なおまた後元（こうもと）の節、申し達すべく候。

(Continued from previous page) — [He] has stated [the above], and from this spring onward, [he] wishes to be appointed to the position of village headman (nanushi). This matter too was reported to Jōzaemon-dono, and [the petition] was resolved as requested.

Item: Shōhei, a tenant-farmer officer (gōkata-kosaku), reported the following: On this occasion, a small number of old-growth timber logs (korōboku) from Miyase Village have been assembled into a raft (sashi). [He] submitted a notification to the effect that he wishes to float [said timber] downriver, using the Benzaiten riverbank as the transit point [in exchange for a fee]. As it is our precedent, [having been] received and settled by us from prior times in accordance with the lord's intentions, [this matter] was accordingly reported to Jōzaemon-dono. There being established prior custom (korei), [the matter] was settled by accepting [the notification] as described below. That decision was conveyed to Shōhei. Furthermore, those under [our] administration were duly informed of ■ the said matter.
12th day.
Item: Tazaemon of Misawa came [to report] and stated that, in the near future, ■ timber-cutting and river-floating work will be carried out at Kinoshita, and [he] hereby gives notice. Furthermore, [this matter] will be reported again at a later date.
Item: 3 to (approx. 54 liters) of rice — [but] this is not divided between the two persons.

Regarding the above: In the fourth month, [this was] received by Yahyōe as his stipend (fuchi) allotment, and a receipt was duly issued accordingly.
