右の通り添状を調え、田中条左衛門（たなかじょうざえもん）に右手形六通、并びに去る寅年（とらどし）の御代（おだい）川下（かわくだし）材木久用也（きゅうようなり）証文壱通を相渡し遣わし申し候。
一、条左衛門殿よりの御手紙、左の通り。
手紙をもって申し入れ候。然るは、先日御申し聞かせ候綱打（つなうち）の義、最早究め（きわめ）にも趣き、間（ま）も明日にでも御申し立て然るべく候。奥書（おくがき）につきましては仰せ付けられ候は仰せ聞かされ候。何の手入れ等を御申し付け候ほど等、相成り申し候哉と存じ候間、申し遣わし候。

右につき、二十三日申し上げ、御綱打（おつなうち）両人を請け取り、二十四日より綱二反（たにたん）、桶漉き（おけすき）より切り続け申し付け候。出来次第御綱札（おつなふだ）差し出し図り御座候。
一、漆苗（うるしなえ）植え付けの件、此の節御中間（おちゅうげん）無之候由に付き、条左衛門殿へ申し立て、日用（ひよう）壱人、御中間差し添え請け取り、二十四日分植え付けに久兵衛（きゅうべえ）罷り出で候。小原方（おばらかた）より下り馬場（ばば）へ植え候所、御調（おしらべ）壱反（いったん）出来に付き、条左衛門殿へ懸（かか）り御用相済み申し候。利則（りそく）代銭差し出し致し候。

As stated above, [I] prepared the accompanying letter and handed over to Tanaka Jōzaemon six copies of the said documents (tegata), together with one copy of the timber transport contract (for downstream river transport) from the previous Year of the Tiger (Tora-doshi), pertaining to long-term use (kyūyō).
Item: A letter received from Jōzaemon-dono, as follows.
I write to you by letter. Regarding the rope-making (tsuna-uchi) matter of which you informed me the other day, [the matter] has now come to a conclusion, and it appears that a formal report should be submitted perhaps as early as tomorrow. As for the endorsement (okugaki), [I] was instructed [as] you had informed [me]. I write to ask whether [it] will be possible for [you] to issue whatever instructions may be required regarding handling and any such measures.

In connection with the above, [I] reported on the 23rd day, received the two rope-makers (tsuna-uchi), and from the 24th day onward ordered them to continue cutting two lengths (tan) of rope from the barrel-straining [process]. Upon completion, [I] intend to submit the rope certificate (tsuna-fuda).
Item: Regarding the planting of lacquer seedlings (urushi-nae) — as there were no attendants (chūgen) available at this time, [I] reported to Jōzaemon-dono, received one hired day-laborer and one attendant (chūgen) assigned [to assist], and Kyūbei came forward to carry out the planting on the 24th. [He] planted [the seedlings] from the Obara area down toward the riding grounds (baba). Upon completion of one tan of the inspected [area], the assignment with Jōzaemon-dono was concluded. The corresponding payment in cash was duly submitted.
