一、紺屋頭（こうやがしら）平兵衛、御領分中の藍瓶（あいがめ）の数が揃い候由にて、帳面并びに届書（とどけしょ）共に持参致し、二十九日御用として差し出し候。

Item: From Zenzaemon and Ōhankichi of Kurosawa village, [a petition was received] requesting [permission] to commence [operating] a dye-house (kōya). As [they stated] that their circumstances this spring were unfavorable (fukatte), they wished to submit a village map (shōzu). Upon their bringing the petition through Jinpei [as an intermediary], [I] received it and submitted it today. Together with this, a petition from Ōshima village concerning a new dye-house (shin-kōya) and the number of indigo-processing goods (ai-ma shinakazu) was also submitted.

Item: Kyūbei, the head of the dye-house guild (kōya-gashira), [reported] that the count of indigo vats (ai-game) throughout the domain had been assembled. Bringing along both the register (chōmen) and the notification documents (todokesho), [he] came in person, and [these were] submitted for official use (goyō) on the 29th day.
