【左丁】
（前頁・杉嶋村藤左衛門の件より続き）につき、右の松（材木に関する）御役（運上金）を上納したい旨の願書を、村役人が持参して差し出した。三月までは運上金を御覧（受領・確認）するのが御作法（慣例）であることから、（三月より）七月までの半役運上（半期分の運上金）を差し戻すこととする。以上。
右の件があったことにつき、その段を申し上げたところ、右の趣旨を承り届け、申し付けるようにとのこと（これまでの）御例（慣例）のとおり、佐十郎殿よりお申し付けがあった。即ち村役人を呼び寄せ、（その旨を）申し渡した。
廿五日
一、下役久兵衛が眼病のため、当面引き籠もって養生したい旨である。差し掛かり（緊急・懸案）の御用筋については罷り出て相勤める。この段、十蔵殿へ申し上げたところ、御聞き置きいただいた。
廿八日
一、御仕入れの薪二百八間（を）勝太川原にて検知（検査・確認）し、改めた。二十五間（分は）弁財天川原（に在り）。

右は、非持村の伝四郎が（某）瀬村内山にて買い調え、同村の焼け家（火災で焼失した家）の普請（修築）を請け負うにつき、川下げしたい（水運で運搬したい）。（つきましては、）奉願い申し上げる。これにより、分一方にてお改め（検査・確認）いただけるよう、仰せ渡し下されたく存じたい。以上。

(Continued from previous page, regarding Fujizaemon of Sugishima Village) — Concerning the above matter, a village official (mura yakunin) personally brought and submitted a petition requesting to pay the prescribed levy (oyaku) on pine timber. Since the customary practice (osahō) was to receive and review the transport levy (unjō) through the third month, the half-period levy (han'yaku unjō) from [the third month] through the seventh month is to be returned (refunded). The above is so stated.
Regarding the above matter, having reported it accordingly, the instruction was received that the matter be acknowledged and acted upon as per current precedent. The order was conveyed by Sajūrō-dono. The village official was accordingly summoned and informed of the directive.
25th Day
One item: Lower official (shimoreki) Kyūbei wishes to withdraw from duties for the time being and recuperate, due to an eye ailment. For pressing official matters (sashi-kakari no goyōsuji) that arise, he will come out and fulfill his duties. This matter was reported to Jūzō-dono, who acknowledged it and took note.
28th Day
One item: Two hundred and eight ken of firewood procured for official use were inspected and confirmed at Katsuta Kawahara. Twenty-five ken (were found) at Benzaiten Kawahara.

The above were purchased by Denshirō of Himochi Village from the mountain forest in (a certain) Se Village, in order to contract the construction/repair of a fire-damaged house in the same village, and he wishes to transport them downriver (kawaoroshi). He humbly petitions for this purpose. Accordingly, he requests that an order be issued for the Buichi-kata (the official inspection office) to conduct an inspection.
