（前頁より続く）いよいよ■宜しく御座候。しかしながら、去々年（おととし）の様に郷方（ごうかた）へお頼みの儀は一向に相成り申さず候。私共の御役筋（おやくすじ）として、川浚（かわざら）い共（ども）出来（しゅったい）の図、相心得候様に、今年■■依り聞かれ候。大槻（おおつき）の人足（にんそく）何程（なにほど）位指し出で来申すべき候義、今仰せられ候。去々年、御築（おつき）出来の節、郷方ばかり、三沢（みさわ）も入り申し候にして、いよいよ和左（わさ）総て川浚い共出来申し上げ候。十日願い迄、前より仰せ付けられ候様に仕り度き段、申し上げ候。次に殿坂（とのさか）御茶屋を見成され候様に申し上げ候。前々申し上げ候より、（水の）流れ寄りにて瀬筋（せすじ）替わり、昼（も）御座なく候段、申し上げ候。何れにも伊（よ）り十一月仰せ付け遊ばされ御沙汰（ごさた）御座候。

(Continuing from previous page) Things appear to be proceeding well [in any case]. However, as in the year before last, the matter of requesting assistance from the village communities [gō-kata] has made no progress whatsoever. As it pertains to our official duties [o-yaku-suji], we are expected to handle the river dredging [kawa-zarai] and related works ourselves, and have been so informed this year. Regarding how many laborers [ninsoku] from Ōtsuki can be mustered for this purpose, we have been asked about this now. In the year before last, at the time the embankment works [o-tsuki] were completed, the village communities alone — with Misawa also participating — managed to complete all the river dredging and related works. We humbly request that [the order] be issued before the tenth-day petition [tōka-negai], as has been done previously. Next, we reported that the Tonosaka teahouse [o-chaya] should be inspected. As has been reported previously, due to changes in the current [water flow direction], the channel course [se-suji] has shifted, and there is no longer a midday [waterway / shallows]. We reported these matters. In any case, it was announced that [the order / instruction] would be issued in the 11th month.
17th Day:
One item: Regarding Udō Sakuhei of Yamajiri Village [Yamdera Village], it is considered difficult for him to continue serving as village elder [toshiyori]. Therefore, we humbly petition that the Udō [position/role] be reconsidered [reformed]. The above petition was brought by the neighborhood group leader [kumigashira], received, and duly reported. It was submitted for official use [goyō] ■.
