One item: From past the Hour of the Rooster [approximately 2–3 p.m.], Kyūbei, a subordinate official [shita-yaku], set out accompanied by one manservant [o-chūgen] to conduct an inspection of the fish weir [yana] on the Yamamuro River [Yamamuro-gawa]. This matter was duly reported to Lord Jūzō, and upon return the details were recorded below.
4th Day
One item: Set out to [inspect] the fish weir post [yana-yaku] at the Benzaiten riverbed [Benzaiten kawara]. [The party consisted of] Kyūbei and one manservant, as noted below. [They] have now returned, and [the matter] has been reported to Lord Jūzō.
