自分儀縣会議員當撰之趣御達ニ相成
老後之面目不過之謹テ御請可仕義ニ御座候得共
犬馬之齢徒ニ耳順ヲ（ヲ）過身体不如意随而精
神之衰弱ヲ覚へ加フルニ若年ヨリ固疾ト相成
候眩暈症折々発シ気根格別薄ク物忘レ
勝ニ記億無之當節ニ至リテハ小事ト雖難
堪事間々有之且持病之疝痛漸々相増

口中ニ一種之煩ひヲ生シ素ヨリ訥弁之言

私は県会議員に当選した旨のお達しをいただき、
老後の面目に過ぎないことで、謹んでお受けするべきことでございますが、
老齢のため、既に六十歳を過ぎて身体が思うようにならず、従って精
神の衰弱を覚え、加えて若年より持病となっている
めまい症が時々発症し、気力が格別薄く、物忘れが
ちで記憶力がなく、近頃に至っては小さなことでも耐え
難いことがしばしばあり、また持病の疝痛が次第に増し、
起き臥しとも不安で、加えて今月初旬より自然に
口中に一種の煩いが生じ、もともと口下手な言
葉がますます声音を妨げ、日常の談話さえなんと
なく自由がきかない。これは全く老年の当然のところとは存じます
が、万一中風の症候かと密かに憂慮し、予防の手当て

I have received notification that I have been elected to the prefectural assembly,
which is an honor beyond what I deserve in my old age, and I should humbly accept this position, however,
due to my advanced age, having already passed sixty, my body does not function as I wish, and consequently I feel
mental weakness, and in addition, the dizziness that has been
a chronic condition since my youth occasionally manifests, my energy is particularly weak, I am prone to
forgetfulness with poor memory, and recently even small matters have become
difficult to bear at times, and my chronic hernia pain is gradually increasing,
making both lying down and rising uncomfortable, and moreover, since early this month naturally
a certain affliction has developed in my mouth, and my originally poor speaking
ability is increasingly impeding my voice, making even ordinary conversation somehow
difficult. While I believe this is entirely the natural consequence of old age,
I secretly worry that it might be symptoms of apoplexy and am taking preventive measures
