意都而御定法之通り
つ汁壱菜之外皆差出申候

勧諭方追々諸々順村
之上難渋者等可相糺候得共

（食事の提供について）四合払いが御定法（公式規定）となっているところ、これもまた末端の者たちの難渋を考慮し、勧諭掛り（説諭担当者）に限り八合を支給するよう申し付けたので、その意を十分に理解し、すべて御定法の通りに、汁一品・菜一品の他は一切出してはならない。もっとも粗末な食事については、少しも差し支えない。今年の不作に際しては、諸事節約・倹約を第一とすること。
右の趣旨を町中へ触れ知らせるべきこと。

(Regarding meal provisions) Although four gō per payment is the established rule (sadamehō), taking into account the hardships of those at the lower levels, it has been ordered that those serving as kannyu-gakari (officials in charge of guidance and persuasion) alone shall receive eight gō. Understanding this intention fully, in accordance with all established rules, nothing beyond one soup and one side dish shall be served. However, there is no objection to serving plain, simple food. In light of this year's poor harvest, frugality and economy in all matters shall be the foremost priority.
The above shall be communicated as a notice throughout the town.
