翻刻

　棋局高尺許脚二三寸面厚七八寸極堅重使不傾
　側黒子磨黧石為之白子磨螺蛤頂骨為之人皆善
　奕謂之悟棋下時不用四角黒白勢子局終数空眼
　多少以定虧嬴不数実子也亦有象棋

　士夫家有一榼或朱或黒滲金間采製作甚精郊飲
　各携一具中四器置食物旁置酒壺一盞一筯二諸
　具略備民家食榼或方或円皆作三四層刳木為之

現代語訳

碁盤の高さは一尺ほどで、脚は二三寸、盤面の厚さは七八寸で極めて堅く重く作られており、傾かないようになっている。黒石は黧石を磨いて作り、白石は螺や蛤の頂部の骨を磨いて作る。人々は皆碁が上手で、これを「悟棋」と呼んでいる。対局時は四隅を使わず、黒白の石の勢力で、局終了時は空点の多少を数えて勝敗を決める。実際の石数は数えない。象棋もある。

食籠

士大夫の家には一つの食籠があり、朱色や黒色で、金を散らし彩色を交えて非常に精巧に作られている。郊外での飲食の際には各々一つずつ携帯する。中には四つの器に食べ物を置き、脇に酒壺一つ、杯一つ、箸二本を置き、諸々の道具が一通り備わっている。民家の食籠は方形や円形があり、皆三四層に作られ、木を刳り抜いて作られている。

英語訳

The go board is about one shaku high, with legs of two to three sun, and the board surface is seven to eight sun thick, made extremely solid and heavy so it will not tip over. Black stones are made by polishing li stone, and white stones are made by polishing the crown bone of spiral shells and clams. Everyone is skilled at go, which they call "goki" (enlightenment chess). During play, the four corners are not used, and the game is decided by the power of black and white stones. At the end of the game, victory or defeat is determined by counting the number of empty intersections, not by counting the actual stones. There is also xiangqi (Chinese chess).

Food Box

Scholar-official families have food boxes, either vermillion or black in color, decorated with scattered gold and various colors, made very exquisitely. When dining in the suburbs, each person carries one. Inside, food is placed in four containers, with a wine pot, one cup, and two chopsticks placed alongside, with all necessary utensils provided. Common people's food boxes come in square or round shapes, all made in three or four tiers, carved from wood.
