　也剪唇上髭令斉者間有之
　　五官正
　国中惟三種人皆剃髪如僧一為医官名曰五官正
　一為王宮執茶役者名曰宗叟又名御茶湯六人又
　有司灌園六人皆全剃髪戴黒色六稜幔頂寛簷帽
　名曰片帽衣外多着短掛一領比大衣略短二三尺
　許黒色　二種人皆趨役無時櫛髪恐稽時事故皆
　使従径省云

また唇上の髭を剪って揃えさせる者も時々いる。

【五官正】
国中でただ三種の人のみが皆僧のように髪を剃る。一つは医官で五官正と名付ける。一つは王宮で茶を執る役の者で宗叟と名付け、また御茶湯と名付け、六人いる。また灌園を司る者が六人おり、皆全て髪を剃り、黒色六稜幔頂寛簷帽を戴く。これを片帽と名付ける。衣の外に多く短掛一領を着け、大衣より略二三尺ほど短く、黒色である。この二種の人は皆時を問わず奔走役務し、髪を櫛くことが時事を遅らせることを恐れるため、皆簡便にするのだという。

There are also occasionally those who trim and arrange the mustache above the lips.

【Wuguan Zheng (Five Officials Chief)】
In the country, only three types of people all shave their hair like monks. One is the medical official called Wuguan Zheng (Five Officials Chief). One consists of those who serve tea in the royal palace, called Zongsou, also called Gochayu (Royal Tea Ceremony), numbering six people. There are also six people who manage the irrigation of gardens, all completely shaving their hair and wearing black six-ridged soft-crowned wide-brimmed hats called Kataboshi (one-sided hats). Over their clothes they mostly wear one short outer garment, approximately two to three feet shorter than regular robes, in black color. These two types of people are constantly busy with duties regardless of time, and fearing that combing hair would delay official matters, they all follow this simple practice.
