ostentatiously, and calling large pipes
"cannons" (teppou)
comes from this origin. Toward the heads of the attacking forces
they frantically blew smoke, chopping tobacco finely,
preparing tobacco in hundred-me portions and bringing them out.
The current term "tama-tabako" (bullet tobacco) also comes from
its use with cannons in military camps. In other
wars there is no practice of making tobacco,
but in this type of conflict,
