現代語訳
七人の化け物がひとかたまりになったので、そこら辺りを跳ね回ろうと思いの外、寄り合い所帯にて、てんでんばらばらの了見故、身の振り回しが思いのままならず。
わが身ながら不自由なこと限りなし。もとより幽霊のことなれば消えてしまうはずなれども、田舎娘ばかりは生き物のことなれば、この物の怪たち一つになりけるゆえ、邪魔になりて今さら消えることもならず。
両国橋にて見世物にしければ、はやること限りなし。このお陰にて帯ただしく金も儲けをしけるゆえ、冥加のため堂を建て、七面大明神を祀りける。

The seven supernatural beings clustered together in one group, and though they intended to bounce around the area, unexpectedly, being a motley assembly with each having different intentions, they could not move their bodies as they wished.
Even their own bodies were extremely inconvenient. Originally being spirits, they should have been able to disappear, but since only the country maiden was a living being, and she had become one with these supernatural creatures, she became an obstruction, and now they could no longer vanish.
When they displayed this as a sideshow at Ryōgoku Bridge, it became extremely popular. Thanks to this, they earned considerable money, so out of gratitude for this divine favor, they built a hall and enshrined the Seven-Faced Great Deity (Shichimen Daimyōjin).
