【図の説明】
衣（い）
　帯なし
　襟あり
　小さな欠け
　勢い
　衣服はすべて幅広でゆったりとしており、後ろに交差する衽（おくみ）がない。袖は大きく二、三尺の長さがあるが、手の指を超えることはない。右の襟の端は欠け勢を作り、衣帯はない。多くは芭蕉布や芭蕉葛で作られている。綦文（きもん）には色彩が混ざり、男女の衣服は皆同じである。これを「衾（きん）」と呼ぶ。

帯（おび）
　大帯は長さ一丈四、五尺、幅六、七寸で、腰の周りに三、四回巻く。雑花錦地のものが最も貴く、大花錦帯がこれに次ぎ、龍が巻いている黄地や紅地のものがさらに次で、下位のものはすべて雑色花帯である。

　All garments are loose and wide without rear crossing panels (okumi). The sleeves are large, two to three shaku in length, but do not extend beyond the fingertips. The right collar end creates a notched style and there are no clothing belts. Most are made from banana fiber cloth or banana kudzu. The geometric patterns (kimon) incorporate mixed colors, and men's and women's clothing are all the same. This is called "kin."

Belt (Obi)
　The large belt is one jō four to five shaku in length and six to seven sun in width, wrapped around the waist three to four times. Those with mixed floral brocade ground are most precious, large floral brocade belts are next, those with dragons coiled on yellow or red ground follow, and the lower grades are all mixed-color floral belts.
