乍恐以書付奉願上候御事
一金子拾両弐分ト銀弐匁三分四厘
内金子弐両ト銀六匁四分六厘八毛 壱ケ年納
右者御薪前金御拝借仕罷在候処段々不納
仕候処極難渋之者共ニ御座候間当午之暮より
来ル戌年之暮迄ニ五ヶ年賦ニ而御上納仕度奉
願上候何卒以 御慈悲奉願上候通被 仰付
被下置候ハヽ難有仕合奉存□御事

現代語訳
【右丁】
恐れながら書付をもって願い上げ申し上げる件について
一、金子十両二分と銀二匁三分四厘
内訳 金子二両と銀六匁四分六厘八毛 一ヶ年納入分
右の者は薪の前金をお借りしており滞納しておりますが、
極めて困窮している者たちでございますので、当午年（明治三年）の暮れから
来る戌年の暮れまで五ヶ年の分割払いで上納いたしたく
願い上げます。何卒ご慈悲をもって願い上げました通り
仰せ付けていただけましたら、ありがたい仕合わせと存じます。

The aforementioned persons have borrowed advance money for firewood procurement and have fallen behind in payments. As they are extremely impoverished, we petition that they be allowed to make payments in five annual installments from the end of this Year of the Horse (Meiji 3, 1870) until the end of the coming Year of the Dog. We humbly request your merciful consideration of this petition, and if granted as requested, we would be most grateful.
