右の通り、当午年中に私どもが請け負って納入するまでの間に流木がございましたが、お上様に損失をおかけしないよう願い上げ、お聞き届けいただいて徐々に伐採してまいりましたところ、思いがけず度々の大水で流失してしまい、伐採人たちも銘々難儀しております。今更お嘆願を申し上げる次第ではございませんが、格別のご慈悲をもってお救いくださいますよう願い上げます。

As stated above, during this Year of the Horse, while we were contracted to deliver the timber, there was driftwood, but we petitioned that no loss would be caused to the authorities, and after receiving approval, we proceeded with gradual logging. However, due to unexpected repeated floods, the timber was washed away, and each of the loggers has suffered hardship. Though it is inappropriate to submit such a petition at this late stage, we humbly request that you show extraordinary compassion and provide relief.
