一 私の父伊兵衛は、天保八年（1837年）に不行跡により年寄職を取り上げられましたが、慶応三年（1867年）に以前の通り年寄職に復帰いたしました。つきましては、御林山の山守を先年の通りに仰せ付けていただきますよう願い上げます。何卒ご慈悲をもって、願いの通りお聞き届けいただけましたら、ありがたく存じます。

One: My father Ihei had his position as village elder revoked in Tempo 8 (1837) due to misconduct, but in Keio 3 (1867) he was restored to his elder position as before. Therefore, we respectfully petition that he be appointed as forest guardian of the government forest and mountains as in previous years. If you would graciously grant this petition with your benevolence, we would be most grateful.
