現代語訳
不義にして止めるは浮かべる雲のごとしと、かように天理に適わざる理不尽をなしたとえ百万両の富豪となっても、慈悲善根の心なく召使いの喉を乾かせ世間の義理を欠き、一文銭に金槌で叩くというような欲の深い金持ちの胸の鏡には餓鬼の姿が映る。これを有財餓鬼とも持ち乞食とも言う。
また、その身は貧乏なるその日暮らしの者も、格別の欲を抱かず正直を基として稼業を営み、清貧を守って足ることを知った人の胸の鏡には常に福神が映っている。されば金持ちに貧乏人あり、貧乏人に金持ちあり。これすなわち足ることを知ると知らぬとの差別なり。悟るべし。
