現代語訳
奥蝦夷を落城させるのみならず、義経は大王の婿となり、蝦夷一国を御手に握り給うことは、ひとえにタンカンが働いた故なりとて、タンカンに数多の領地を下し置かれ、あまつさえ亀井・片岡・伊勢・駿河が等役に仰せ付けられ、出頭限りなく、その家来ジンシャウ・ウラミンテエル、同じくインヲリスウ・ウエンメイという両人を御館まで呼び出され、「この度主人もろとも出征に働き、奇特に思し召すの段、なおこの上御ために、よろしく相勤め御様に」と仰せ渡され、昆布二巻きずつ下し置かれける。
タンカンが家来両人、サボテンのままで召し出される。
蝦夷人のそれがし、結構な御取り立て、おのおの肩を御同列に仰せ付けられるのみならず、家来ともまた御褒美下し置かれ、妙が四国などと、ダンカンそら拝みの調子らをいう。
「数の子ならぬ私ども、昆布かように仰せ付けられますは、有り難き山のまた昆布からす」
伊勢の三郎は若手にて抜擢なれども、蝦夷中にてことのほかよろしき評判なり。
英語訳
Not only did they conquer the inner Ezo territory, but Yoshitsune became the son-in-law of the great king and gained control of the entire Ezo nation, which was entirely due to Tankan's efforts. Therefore, many territories were granted to Tankan, and furthermore, Kamei, Kataoka, Ise, and Suruga were appointed to equal rank. Their prominence was limitless, and their retainers Jinshō and Uramin-teeru, along with In'orisū and Uenmei, were summoned to the mansion. They were told, "This time you worked together with your master in the campaign, which we find most commendable. Continue to serve well for our benefit in the future," and each was granted two rolls of kelp.
Tankan's two retainers were summoned while still in their cactus state.
The Ezo people said, "We have received such excellent promotion, each of us appointed to equal rank with the others. Not only that, but our retainers have also received rewards. It's wonderful - like Myōga of Shikoku," and Dankan spoke such nonsensical flattery.
"We who are not herring roe but kelp, to be appointed in such a manner is truly grateful - mountain kelp crows again."
Ise no Saburō, though young and a recent promotion, has an exceptionally good reputation among the Ezo people.
