手段もございません。一同心配いたしております。恐れ入りますが、
貧しい町の事情をご賢察くださいまして、何とぞ《見せ消ち：内縁｜この上は》
《見せ消ち：の者を慈愛をもって世話してくれるよう ご理解》
《見せ消ち：お願い申し上げます。恐れながら嘆願いたします。この上は》ご憐愍を
ひとえにお願い申し上げます。

右の願書を十七日に近藤氏のお取り次ぎで差し上げましたところ、末尾の消した部分を
直して差し上げるよう仰せ置かれました。二十日に差し上げましたところ、さらに申し渡しがあり、
鈴木氏から今少し直すようにとお下げになりました。
丁代栄蔵の件について申し渡しがあり、差し戻されました。

We have no means to do so. Everyone is worried. We humbly beg your pardon, but
please consider wisely the circumstances of our poor town, and somehow ~~crossed out: for those in common-law marriage | in this situation~~

The above petition was submitted on the 17th through Mr. Kondō's intermediation, but we were told to correct the crossed-out portions and resubmit. When we submitted it on the 20th, there were further instructions, and Mr. Suzuki returned it saying it needed more revisions.
Regarding chō-representative Eizō, instructions were given and the document was returned.
