成生之上者善八跡為相立置候得共生得不具

現代語訳
成人した上は善八の跡を継がせようと思いますが、生まれつき身体に障害がある
者でございますので、養子縁組などはいかがなものでしょうか。不憫な
者で嘆かわしく存じます。恐れながらご賢察くださいまして、
何卒格別のご憐愍をもってお救いくださいますよう
ひたすらお願い申し上げます。恐れ多くもお願い申し上げる次第について、私どもも
重々恐れ入っておりますが、この上のご慈悲をひとえに
お願い申し上げます。
右の趣旨につき 袋町

When she comes of age, we intend to have her inherit Zenrachi's household, but since she is
a person born with physical disabilities, we wonder how adoption arrangements and such might work. She is a pitiful
person, and we find this lamentable. Humbly, please exercise your wise consideration,
and by all means, with special compassion, please rescue her.
We earnestly petition you. Though it is presumptuous of us to make such a petition, we ourselves
are deeply ashamed, but we humbly
beseech your further mercy.
