乍恐以口上書奉願上候御事
私酒造家之儀ニ付段々奉蒙 御厚恩去ル辰年
御裁件御下被成下置難有仕合奉存候然ル者和談
勘定仕度候ニ付度々治郎左衛門方江示談申入候得者
勝手次第之義申立和談迚も難出来御裁件済
之上者都而弐ツ割与心得罷在候得者家賃之義者
治郎左衛門方江可継与三五郎江御沙汰御座候趣
右之様御沙汰御座候而者私可受取家賃全ハ
不及申ニ其外之儀迄手入申候得者私妻子養

現代語訳
恐れながら口上書をもって願い上げる件について
私は酒造家でございますので、段々と厚いご恩恵を蒙っており、去る辰年にご裁決をお下しいただき、ありがたい仕合わせと存じます。そうした中で和談勘定をしたく、度々治郎左衛門方へ示談を申し入れましたが、勝手次第の義を申し立て、和談といってもできかねます。ご裁決が済んだ上は、すべて二つ割りと心得ておりましたが、家賃の件については治郎左衛門方が継ぐべきと三五郎へご沙汰があったとのことです。
右のようなご沙汰がございましては、私が受け取るべき家賃全額はもちろんのこと、その他の件まで手を入れられましては、私の妻子を養うことが困難となっております。また治郎左衛門が我意を張り、まだ和談にも至らない中で、次男をもって代治の跡式相続をし、酒造商売をしたい旨を願い出ておりますが、これは全く本家を取り潰す手段と存じます。右のような件でございましては、実に本家の経営が成り立ちません。別紙ヶ条にございます通りご覧いただき、ご賢察の上、私の家名が立ち行くようになりますよう願い上げます。

Regarding a petition humbly submitted through this oral statement:
As I am in the sake brewing business, I have continuously received great benevolence, and in the previous year of the Dragon (Tatsu), you graciously handed down a judicial decision, for which I am most grateful. Under these circumstances, I wished to settle accounts through negotiation and repeatedly approached Jirozaemon's side for consultation. However, they assert matters according to their own convenience, making negotiation impossible. After the judicial decision was completed, I understood that everything would be divided in half, but regarding the house rent matter, there was an official directive to Sangoro that Jirozaemon's side should inherit it.
With such a directive, not only would I lose the full house rent that I should rightfully receive, but if they interfere in other matters as well, it becomes difficult for me to support my wife and children. Furthermore, while Jirozaemon stubbornly insists on his own way and negotiations have not yet been reached, he has petitioned to have his second son inherit Daiji's estate and continue the sake brewing business, which I believe is entirely a scheme to destroy the main family. With such matters, the main family truly cannot sustain itself. Please examine the separate document with articles as indicated, and after your wise consideration, I humbly petition that my family name may be able to continue.
