乍恐以口上書奉願上候
私儀数代町御役儀被 仰付難有仕合奉存
奉蒙 御重恩相勤罷在候得共町家ニ乍罷在
表立候商売茂無御座候ニ付従
御先代引続天明年中迄酒造商売仕候訳茂
御座候当節諸色高直ニ茂相成日々之営不都合与
廉々不少難渋仕候依之新町掟地所ニ而右
酒造商売仕度奉存候何卒格別之以

恐れながら口上書をもってお願い申し上げます
私は数代にわたって町役を仰せつけられ、ありがたい仕合わせと存じ、
ご重恩を蒙り相勤めておりますが、町家におりながら
表立った商売もございませんので、先代から
引き続き天明年中まで酒造商売をしていた経緯も
ございます。昨今、諸物価が高騰し、日々の営業が不都合で、
様々な点で少なからず難渋しております。つきましては、新町掟地所で右の
酒造商売をしたいと存じます。何卒格別の
ご慈悲をもってお願い申し上げます通り、仰せつけていただけましたら、
厚いご憐愍として、ありがたい仕合わせと存じます。以上

Humbly submitted through this oral statement:
I have been appointed to town office duties for generations, which I consider a most fortunate arrangement, and
have been serving while receiving your great benevolence. However, while residing as a townsman,
I have no prominent business, and therefore, continuing from my
predecessor until the Tenmei era, I have been engaged in sake brewing business.
Currently, with the rise in prices of all goods, daily operations have become difficult, and
I am experiencing considerable hardship in various aspects. Therefore, I would like to conduct the aforementioned
sake brewing business at the Shinmachi regulation district. I most humbly request your special
mercy, and if you would grant my petition as requested,
I would consider it your gracious compassion and a most fortunate arrangement. The above stated,
