私儀先年平出村喜左衛門方江本高拾五石之酒
造株貸渡置候処 御上様ゟ休株被 仰付

貸置候書面有之候ニ付休株ニ而差戻し呉候様及
掛合候得共不聞入候間乍恐出訴仕奉歎願候
御調之上御利解被成下示談被仰付示談行

恐れながら口上書をもって願い上げ申し上げる件について
私は先年、平出村の喜左衛門のもとに本高十五石の酒造株を貸し渡しておりましたところ、お上様より休株を仰せ付けられ、そのままとなっておりました。今般の御一新の折から、御立株となりましたので、喜左衛門は右の株を米高百石に増高することを願い出ました。先年貸し置いた書面がございますので、休株のため差し戻してくれるよう交渉いたしましたが、聞き入れてもらえませんので、恐れながら出訴いたし、嘆願申し上げます。
お調べの上、御利解くださり、示談を仰せ付けられ、示談が成立いたしました。つきましては願い上げ申し上げますが、願書をお下げ渡しくださいますよう願い上げます。
右の趣旨について、御慈悲をもって願い上げ申し上げます通り仰せ付けられくだされば、ありがたき仕合わせと存じ上げます。以上

Respectfully submitting this verbal petition
I had previously lent a sake brewing license with a assessed rice yield of 15 koku to Kizaemon of Hirade Village. However, the authorities ordered it to be suspended (kyūkabu), and it remained inactive. Now, with the recent imperial restoration, active licenses (ritsukab) have been restored, and Kizaemon has petitioned to increase the rice assessment of this license to 100 koku. Since I have the documentation from when I originally lent the license, I negotiated for its return due to the suspension, but he would not agree. Therefore, I respectfully file this lawsuit and humbly petition for resolution.
After your investigation and gracious mediation, you ordered mediation talks, and an agreement was reached. Therefore, I respectfully petition that you return the petition document to me.
Regarding the above matter, if you would graciously grant my petition as requested, I would consider it a most grateful outcome.
