The above is requested as follows: since the honorable榑木 (kuremoki/kubiki; hewn timber) has arrived at the crossing point, measurement and inspection (machi) is to take place at the Hour of the Monkey (approximately 2 p.m.) on the 2nd day of the coming month. Accordingly, I humbly wish to receive [the above foot soldier] as a meshi-ta-yaku (a lower-ranking attendant/assistant for meal duties). Respectfully submitted.
