恐れながら書付をもって願い奉り候事
私儀、只今まで高事（たかごと）仕り遣わされ候えども、
元々小高（こだか）の義にて御座候付き、万事
手詰まり難義仕り候。これに依り■■■
仕度く存じ奉り候。当申の義は〔おそらく〕日数手形に
御座候に付き、藍瓶壱瓶にて少々の染物
仕度く存じ奉り候義、願い奉り候通り、仰せ付けられ
下し置かれ候わば、増瓶の義は無事来（ゆくゆく）は
願い奉るべく候。
右願い奉り候通り、御免達（ごめんたつ）候、
仰せ付け下し置かれ候、有り難く候、有り難き仕合わせに

Item: Three documents consisting of the indigo-vat tax register (藍瓶役帳) and the petition for additional vats (増瓶願置), together with the horizontal register of vat volumes (瓶数石前横帳), and additionally the vat tax registers for the ■ and Ushi [years] — all submitted/presented.
Petition humbly submitted by written document
Although I have until now been allowed to conduct [business] at a higher level (taka-goto), my [assessed] yield/holdings are originally small (ko-daka), and I have therefore been in straitened and difficult circumstances in all matters. For this reason, I wish to [undertake a certain course of action — text partially illegible]. As the current Saru year [1758] is [apparently] a term-note/fixed-period [arrangement], I humbly wish to perform a small amount of dyeing work using one indigo vat. If this petition is granted and the order is issued accordingly, I intend thereafter to humbly petition [regarding] the matter of additional vats once affairs are in order.
If [this petition] is graciously approved as humbly submitted herein, and the order is issued [accordingly], I shall consider it a matter of the utmost gratitude and good fortune. Respectfully submitted.
