[Left folio]
From the 12th of the 7th Month to the 1st of the 11th Month:
Item: Ugui [Japanese dace] — 286 — [by] Katsu-hei
Item: Sako — 6
As noted above, [this is] the record of the number of fish caught by the honorable rope-drivers (o-tsunauchi). That is all.
Eleventh Month, 10th Day — Kyūemon
10th Day
Item: Concerning the rest days when the honorable net-drivers (o-amiuchi) had finished their work — Lords Rokuemon and Jōzaemon stated that, regarding the large communal room [workers] (ōbeya), if three days of rest were granted, [the workers] should take back [their] morning and evening provisions [from storage]. Accordingly, as had been the practice previously, [they] wished to arrange that rest days be given in the manner customary for the less-well-off (hin-kata) [workers]; this was duly reported. [However, it was noted that] if [workers] were to take back three days' worth of provisions and supplies, this would cause hardship. [Therefore,] in accordance with the prior precedent noted below, it was settled that rest days be arranged within the jurisdiction of the Bun'ichi-kata [office], as requested through Kyūzaemon, and the matter was duly resolved in accordance with the said prior precedent.
Item: Today, [being an] official business day (go-yō-bi), [the following was] submitted — as noted below.
Item: Small[-grade timber]: 1,067 pieces
— of which 50 pieces [came] from Katsuma Riverbank (Katsuma Kawara)
Item: Planks (itago): 154 pieces
— of which 6 sheets [came] from Katsuma Kawara
Item: Round logs (maruta): 393 pieces
— of which 209 pieces [came] from Katsuma Kawara
The above [items], being the procured timbers of various kinds, [their] delivery/crossing [■] was inspected and verified. The situation is as stated above. That is all.
Eleventh Month, 14th Day — Kyūemon
