[Right Folio]   Rice: [rations for] 11 persons — [Requested] by the o-chūgen (attendants/servants)      [For service in] the crosscutting (yoko-giri) duties, and additionally in the      honorable weir (o-yana) equipment duties   As stated above, I wish to receive and distribute [rice] as midday meal rations. That is all. Item: Naozaemon of the Purchasing/Supply Section (o-shire-kata) has reported the following: Fifty (50) pieces of small-grade timber (ko-yō) have been sold and dispatched to Jōen-ji Temple (常円寺) in Yamadera Village (山寺村). These were transported downstream (shimo-kawagoshi) economically from Benzai-ya, and the arrangement is to hand them over at the river crossing (watashi-ba) of said village. He reported this matter accordingly. [We] duly acknowledged this; however, on the 20th, [the matter] was referred to the honorable officials (go-yōnin), and instructions were sent down from the [authority above] — [the remainder is partially illegible]. 21st Day Item: Regarding the timber at Yoshiwara (吉原) — [instructions were given] to inquire of Lord Kawashimojō Saemon (川下条左衛門), directing that [the timber] be sent downstream (ge-kawa) at his own discretion. Today's directive [was issued to this effect], and notice of said matter was sent to (■) Saemon. 22nd Day Item: Denshi'uemon (伝四右衛門) of Himochi Village (非持村), [regarding] the pine timber he is transporting downstream (ge-kawa) a second time this summer — [a report has come in] that various people at this time are sending [timber] downstream. Accordingly, [I] accompanied Kyūbee in his capacity as a colleague, together with one honorable attendant (o-chūgen), and went there to conduct an inspection (kenchi). Furthermore, [the matter] was duly reported to Lord Kyūgozaemon (久五左衛門), and upon returning [I noted] the following details: Item: Pine small-grade timber (matsu-ki ko-yō) — 17 pieces — 2 ken [in length]     of which: 7-sun [diameter] — 4 pieces          5-sun [diameter] — 6 pieces          Round logs (maru-ta) — 7 pieces Item: Planks (ita-ko) — 10 sheets — 1 ken [in length]
